COURSE MARKINGS

White markings: Out of bounds

Red markings: Red penalty area

Blue markings: Ground under repair

Green top: No play zone

Markings may consist of stakes, plates, and/or lines.

  1. All distance markers, signs, and trees with support stakes on the course, as well as all objects indicating distances and bell posts, are treated as immovable obstructions. Relief without penalty is granted under Rule 16.1.
  2. If it is known or virtually certain that a ball is in the penalty area on Hole 5 or Hole 11, the player may take relief with one penalty stroke either under Rule 17.1 or by dropping a ball in the dropping zone. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3.
  3. Out of Bounds or Lost Ball – Fairway Drop: When a ball is out of bounds or lost, the player may, with a two-stroke penalty under Model Local Rule E-5 (see notice board or website), drop a ball within two club-lengths into the fairway, not nearer the hole than where the ball crossed the OB boundary or is estimated to be lost. (“Fairway” means grass in the general area cut to fairway height or lower, including teeing areas.)
  4. Areas in bunkers where sand has been washed away and running water has created deep channels are considered ground under repair. Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1c.

Penalty for playing from a wrong place in breach of a local rule: General penalty under Rule 14.7a.

Code of Conduct – No Access Areas. In no play zones on Holes 2, 4, 5, and 11, entry is strictly prohibited. Players must not enter these areas to retrieve a ball or to take a stance for a ball lying outside the no play zone.

Relief must be taken as for a no play zone under Rule 17.1e.

  • First breach: One penalty stroke

  • Second breach: General penalty (two strokes or loss of hole)

  • Third breach: Disqualification

Approved by the Danish Golf Union (DGU), December 2025.
